Course: Earned Value Management (EVM) for Project Success
Earned value, an objective measurement of how much work has been accomplished on a project, is a management technique relating resource planning to technical, cost, and schedule requirements. Measuring earned value encourages use of effective internal technical, cost, and schedule management control systems. It allows the customer to rely on timely data produced by the control systems to determine deliverables' contract status.

You learn how to analyze cost, schedule and technical performance utilizing EVM techniques. The performance data can be used to develop conclusions and make recommendations to improve future project progress. It is important to understand the concepts of replanning and reprogramming for review and reporting requirements that you, as a contractor, face. You participate in a hands-on case study that walks you through a project management life-cycle - planning, executing, controlling - and utilizes the techniques you've learned. Leave the program with EVM concepts you can apply to your own projects immediately.

    Topics Include:
  • Objectives and benefits of EVM
  • Cost control for project success
  • Work definition and organization
  • Reporting requirements
  • Data analysis

  • Measuring performance
