Course: Project Management Fundamentals One-Week
Develop an understanding of project management phases as they relate to government and commercial projects that feature hard and/or soft deliverables, as well as services and support efforts. Course content will be divided into five basic modules (as outlined below) with the majority of time and exercises devoted to the Pre-Award phase and the Project Execution phase.

Introduction - references, definitions, and the PMP certification process.

The Pre-Award phase - baseline planning in the areas of technical, cost, and schedule solutions.

The Project Initiation phase - leveraging kickoff meetings and gaining buy-ins.

The Project Execution phase - statusing, performance measurement, corrective action, change management, people management, and gaining acceptance of work and deliverables.

The Project Closeout phase - contract completion, lessons learned, and contract closeout activities.

He has been a Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) since 1979, and Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) since 1984.
