Course: Information Assurance Associate
Cover the fundamentals of Information Assurance. Learn how to safeguard information by ensuring confidentiality, integrity, authentication, availability, and non-repudiation whether threats are accidental or malicious. Establish your knowledge of key concepts of information security including threats and risks to information and information resources, best practices to protect them, and diversified protection strategies. Become confident in defining a network's infrastructure. Review common policies adopted by network administrators to protect the network and network-accessible resources from unauthorized access. Learn methodologies to perform continuous monitoring. Information Assurance has become a critical issue for businesses as they wrestle with problems of external and internal network attack, cyber-terrorism, access control systems and regulatory compliance requirements. Define the critical business functions that must be available to continue doing business. Build the foundation of Business Continuity Planning by reviewing policies, guidelines, standards, and procedures for organization implementation and steps to recover from a disaster.

Instructor: Benjamin McGee
Biography: Ben McGee is a Senior Systems Engineer working as a support contractor for SAIC with the Army. His specialty is secure systems and software engineering and he has experience with encryption, biometrics, smart cards, and identity, credential and access management. Mr. McGee has worked for NASA at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), Raymond James Financial, CDXperts, BenefitOne of America, Line Drive Consulting, Geonex-AgraBaymont, and TEKSystems. He holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designation and is currently the Vice President of the North Alabama Information Systems Security Association here in Huntsville.
