Course: Introduction to HTML and Web Design
Offering first a quick overview of the Internet and the pages that make it interesting and eye-catching, the course then dives into the basic concepts of HTML. You will learn Web design concepts, site layout and management, domain names, and registration as well as WS-FTP for site management. Then you will begin to learn the HTML language with hands-on applications for each new topic, page appearance, and layout concepts for a successful Web presence.

Topics include:

  • Basics of Web design
  • Proper setup and site layout
  • Basic syntax of HTML
  • Basic tables and frames
  • Designing effective Web pages
  • Learn CSS to separate content from format
  • Establishing Web sites with an ISP or a Web Server
  • Using the WS-FTP for file transfer and site management
  • Create meta data to help search engines and browser page control

Biography: Johnny Busby is a Senior IT Security Engineer and Project Manager, IT Security, for SAIC on the NASA UNITeS contract. With 20 years of experience in IT areas, he is experienced in planning, designing, developing, deploying, and managing highly complex information technology infrastructures and systems. His programming experience includes C/C++, HTML/DHTML/XHTML, Perl, PHP, XML, JavaScript, Expect, AJAX, Tcl/Tk, Java, Motif/X/GTK+, and Python. Mr. Busby is a certified Brainbench PHP4 Master. His career history includes work in service, chemical, and government industries.
